Born in Boston, James was the son of the late Walter Hardiman and Constance (Woolhouse) Morse. He was raised and educated in Worcester and graduated from Central New England College.
James enjoyed a successful career as an electrical engineer with Warren Communications in Littleton before retiring. Throughout his professional life, he was known for his dedication, knowledge, and strong work ethic.
A proud veteran, James served in the United States Navy during the late 1950s aboard the USS Marshall. His military service remained a source of pride throughout his life.
James was a former member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and especially cherished moments with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also a devoted Boston sports fan who faithfully followed the Red Sox and Patriots.
He is survived by his three children: Susan Walker and her husband Garret of Holden, Beth Delaney of Westborough, and Jeffrey Hardiman and his wife Cheryl of Uxbridge. He also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Meagan Weigold, Justin Sorensen, Anna Vriesema, Molly Linnane, James Delaney, Haley Walker, Jordan Walker, Erin Shinkus, and Lindsay Walker, along with nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Rose, James was predeceased by his daughter, Diane Sorensen, and his sister, Mary Vail.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, June 20th from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, located at 62 West Main Street in Westborough.
A brief service will begin at 11:30 A.M., followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon.
