Doris Hazel (Ribero) Simmons, of North Attleboro

Born in Milford, Doris was raised in Franklin and was a graduate of Franklin High School and Dean Junior College. She devoted her life to her family and community, serving as a Girl Scout leader, Camp Shady Pines counselor, substitute teacher, church volunteer, and active member of the Squantum Garden Club.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Flowers and her husband David of East Sandwich, and Wendy Simmons and her spouse Patti Plourde of Quincy; her granddaughters, LilliAnn Plourde of Greenfield and Abby Rose Plourde of Weymouth; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Simmons, and her siblings Priscilla Neal, Nancy Thornton, and Robert Ribero.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6, at 10:00 a.m. at Franklin United Methodist Church, 82 West Central Street, Franklin. Burial will follow at Union Street Cemetery in Franklin.
