Born on January 17, 1943, in Providence, Rhode Island, Joyce was the daughter of the late Haig and Siroon (Mooshekian) Avedisian.
Joyce dedicated many years of her professional life to serving others as a Billing Supervisor for Visiting Nurse Services of Milford. She was well known for her kindness, dedication, and commitment to her community.
Throughout her life, Joyce remained active in a number of organizations and causes she cared deeply about. She was a member of the Ridgewood Woman’s Club, served as a Cub Scout den mother, and was a former member of the Milford Methodist Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and helping guide young members of the congregation.
Family was at the center of Joyce’s life. She treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she found great joy in watching her family grow through the years.
In addition to her husband Francis, Joyce is survived by her children: Lynne Coolbrith and her husband Glenn of Bellingham, Tony Richardson Jr. and his wife Beth of Uxbridge, and David Richardson Sr. and his wife Tina of Mount Washington, Kentucky.
She also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Irene Gallagher and her husband Richard of Waltham, and Linda Ovoian of Watertown.
Joyce was predeceased by her son, Todd M. Richardson, and her brother, Diran H. Avedisian.
She will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to family, faith, and the many lives she touched through her kindness and service to others.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 31st from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, located at 42 Congress Street in Milford.
Burial will be private.
