Title: Celtic Strength World Championships (CSWC)
Location: Fino Field. Milford, MA
Date: June 13th 9am-4pm. *Same Day Scotland returns to the World Cup only 25min away from us at Gillette at 9PM.
1. Highland Games Heavy Events:
– Each athlete competes in 9 events on the day. Because the CSWC will serve as a launch platform for the new Heavy Events Pro League, there will be international representation of ELITE pro athletes from across Europe, Canada, USA, South Africa, and Australia. Open Format, meaning all can register to compete and go against the Pros. Purse per event.
2. Two (2) Wrestling Championships:
– The first ever North American Scottish Backhold Wrestling Championships, sanctioned & officiated by the Scottish Wrestling Bond, flying in from Scotland.
– The return of Irish Collar and Elbow Wrestling after 100 years in the Northeast Championships. Sanctioned & officiated by the Irish Collar and Elbow Federation flying in from Ireland. This was the original super sport back in the 18-19th century in New England. Even George Washington practiced it. The lads are bringing it back!
3. Team Highlander Championship:
– Barbell clubs from around New England and beyond form to battle each other in 5 events. Started in 2023 and a huge success throughout all of New England.
4. Celtic Stones of Strength:
– Crowd Try-it Station
– Inauguration of the 266# Clach Fear Alba lifting stone freighted from Scotland, paired with the 254# Cloch Bán stone from Ireland.
– The Stone Man Challenge with historic Stones of Strength.
– Experts from Scotland and Ireland flying in to run the stations.
5. Crowd Activation Strength Challenges:
– Highlander Fitness Challenge: 2min circuit. Complete the challenge and name gets put into a winner’s basket to draw. Great for sponsorships too.
– Zercher Squat Challenge
– Celtic Combat Workshops: Irish Stickfighting, Bareknuckle Boxing, Catch Wrestling, Scottish Full-staff.
– Kids Tug-of-War vs Pros
– Kids Athletic Tent
