Judy Baxter, 81, of Mendon
1945 - 2026

She is survived by her devoted sons, Scott and Kenny Stevens, along with their families and many close friends whose lives were enriched by her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.

Judy’s family was truly the center of her world. She was a deeply cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend who devoted her life to caring for and connecting with the people she loved most. Her sons, Scott and Kenny, were the greatest joys of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with her growing family.

She leaves behind Kenny’s daughter Heather and her soon-to-be husband Andrew; Scott’s wife Jenn; granddaughter Lindsey, her husband Brian, and great-grandson Orrin; Alyssa and her husband Marc and their sons Trevenn and Greyson; Rachel and her husband Paul-David and their soon-to-arrive baby girl; and Sarah and her husband Hunter.

Judy found immense joy in bringing people together, especially during the holidays. Her Christmas gatherings became treasured traditions filled with incredible food, thoughtful gifts, laughter, and the unmistakable feeling of being welcomed and loved. She had a remarkable way of making every person feel remembered and cared for.

She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — yard sales, lunch and coffee dates with friends, tending to her yard, and maintaining a warm and beautiful home. Above all, Judy loved conversation. Whether talking with family or catching up with friends, she never rushed a phone call. Her famously long conversations became part of her legacy — a reflection of just how deeply she valued staying connected to the people she loved.

Whether you knew her as Judy, Ma, Aunt Judy, Gram, Buma, or Grammy B, you knew a call from her meant settling in for a heartfelt conversation full of care, laughter, stories, and love.

Judy also had a lifelong love of cats and animals. She lovingly cared for countless cats over the years and never hesitated to feed a stray that wandered to her porch. Her home was filled with cat decorations and stories of the animals she adored.

Her love, traditions, recipes, and guidance will continue to live on through the generations of family and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at the family home at a later date, where loved ones will gather to share stories, recipes, memories, and laughter — just as Judy would have wanted.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s memory may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League in honor of her lifelong love of cats and animals.
