MILFORD – Milford residents will gather tonight at 7 p.m. at Upper Town Hall for the town’s Annual Town Meeting, where voters will consider 21 warrant articles. One of the most closely watched items is a proposed $2.75 million settlement tied to a lawsuit filed by a Milford police sergeant alleging employment discrimination within the Milford Police Department.

The lawsuit claims the sergeant was denied promotional opportunities because of her gender and subjected to sexual harassment. The Town’s Finance Committee has described the proposed settlement as “the most responsible path forward under the circumstances.”
