Celine T. (Wood) Colecchi, 83, of Milford, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Timothy Daniels House in Holliston.
Born in Milford, Celine was the daughter of the late William McCarthy and Maree (Flanigan) Wood and was lovingly raised by her stepfather, Stephen Wood. She graduated from the former St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1962, and later graduated with honors from Mass Bay Community College, earning her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Celine first began her professional career in the 1970s as a real estate agent. She later owned and operated Nightingale Enterprises/Celine’s while working for many years as a licensed practical nurse, continuing in the profession into her 60s before retiring to care for her beloved granddaughter.
Throughout her life, Celine lived in many places she loved, including Milford, Franklin, Boston’s North End during the 1980s, and later Falmouth on Cape Cod before eventually returning to Milford in 2007.
Celine had a deep appreciation for creativity and learning. She loved gardening, writing poetry, reading, and staying informed on current events, especially politics, environmental issues, and music. Her thoughtful nature and curious spirit remained with her throughout her life.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nikki Colecchi of Milford and Ann Donovan of Oak Harbor, Washington; her three grandchildren, Ari-Pagan Colecchi of Milford, Shannon Lynn Lawson of Freeland, Washington, and Sean Donovan Lawson of Freeland, Washington; and her seven great-grandchildren, Troy Nelson, Ariez Lawson, Isaac Spears, Jayden Sorensen Lawson, Tyler Lawson, Jonah Nelson, and Enzo Tulli.
Celine also leaves behind her sister, Elaine Eden of Bellingham and Elaine’s daughter, Carlette Roda of Milford; her sister-in-law, Kristin Wood of Millville; and nieces Leanna Vera Wood of Los Angeles and Katherine Bzdel of Boston.
She was predeceased by her mother, Maree Wood; her stepfather, Stephen Wood; her father, William McCarthy; her brother, Steven “Larry” Wood; and her great-grandson, Caleb Spears.
Celine will be remembered for her intelligence, creativity, compassion, and enduring love for her family.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 13, at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford.
