1947 - 2026
Born in Boston, Robert was the son of the late Frank and Lillian (Guida) Gately. He was raised in Foxboro and graduated from Foxboro High School before going on to earn his bachelor’s degree.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1969. Following his military service, he furthered his education by earning a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University.
He went on to build a long career as a civil engineer. During his time as a resident of Hopedale, Robert was actively involved in the community, serving on the Hopedale Planning Board.
He is survived by his brother, William Gately of Venice, Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford.
A visiting hour will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Hopedale Village Cemetery with military honors.
