Raymond worked in the Shipping Department at Metso Inc., formerly known as Neles-Jamesbury Corporation in Shrewsbury. Earlier in his career, he was employed by Normack Machinery and Draper Corporation.
Born in Milford, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Raymond V. and Eva (Earl) Hayes and attended Milford High School.
Raymond was an active Band Booster volunteer at Northbridge High School. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the accordion, metal detecting, and spending time visiting with his family.
He is survived by his three sons, Raymond F. Hayes, Jr. of Washington, Stephen M. Hayes of Connecticut, and John M. Hayes of Connecticut; his daughter, Michele A. Hayes of Linwood, Massachusetts; as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert V. Hayes.
Funeral services will be held privately.
