The Hopedale Blue Raiders turned in a strong showing at the D5 Track and Field Championships earlier this year, and the meet was headlined by Ari Levine’s gold medal in the shot put. Levine threw 60-03.50 to take first place and give Hopedale one of its biggest individual moments of the championships.
The Blue Raiders also posted several other top finishes that helped lift the team to a third-place result among the 40 schools in the field. Hopedale’s 4×800 meter relay team took second in 8:37.02, finishing just five seconds behind Parker Charter Essential. Matt Sotne, Charlie Keyes, Connor Fitzgibbon, and Ben Stone were credited with that strong relay effort. Quinn Cook added another top finish with fourth place in the boys’ two-mile, clocking 9:40.09. Ben Stone also impressed in the mile, placing third with a time of 4:32.32.
Altogether, Hopedale’s depth and top-end talent gave the program a memorable championship meet. With Levine leading the way and several others scoring valuable points, the Blue Raiders showed they could compete across multiple events. Hopedale will look to carry that momentum into next season and into the spring outdoor track and cross country seasons, where the program should remain a strong presence.
