The Medfield Warriors delivered a powerful performance in the Round of 8, defeating Dracut 7-3 to punch a ticket to the semifinals. Medfield jumped ahead early and never surrendered control, opening the scoring with efforts from Owen Mix, Jack Blake, and Matthew Dickson to enter the second period with a 3-0 lead.
Medfield tacked on another tally before the break as Matthew Dickson scored again and Avery Stein tipped a puck home, pushing the advantage to 5-1. In the third period, the Warriors extended the lead as Max Abramson found the net early, and then capped the night with an empty-netter for the final margin. Medfield finished with balanced scoring as multiple players contributed, and the team controlled the pace from puck drop.
The Warriors now await the winner of No. 2-seeded Nauset Regional and No. 7-seeded Scituate for a chance to play for a berth in the championship. Medfield’s depth and late-game execution will be crucial as it aims for the program’s next big postseason milestone. But if Nauset wins the Warriors will have a very strong challenge to overcome.
