GRAFTON – Grafton Recreation will host its annual Shamrock Splashdown Polar Plunge on March 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Silver Lake Beach, raising funds for the Betty Wright Scholarship Fund. The community event invites residents to take a cold-water plunge in support of local graduating seniors pursuing higher education, with partners including the Grafton Police Department.
Proceeds from the event directly benefit the Betty Wright Scholarship Fund, which honors Betty Wright’s longtime dedication to Grafton’s recreation programs and youth initiatives. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students as they continue their education beyond high school.
The Shamrock Splashdown has become a collaborative community effort, with local businesses, organizations and the Grafton Police Department helping support the fundraiser through sponsorships, donations and team participation. These partnerships expand the event’s reach while reinforcing the connection between recreation programming and educational opportunity.
Residents can register individually or as a team and take part in the spirited tradition while supporting a meaningful cause.
