BELLINGHAM – A Bellingham man is behind bars following bomb threats that triggered emergency responses at Milford Regional Medical Center and Boston Logan Airport early Tuesday morning.

Police say the threat to Milford Regional Medical Center prompted an immediate lockdown, with the hospital closed to normal operations for more than an hour while Milford Police and Firefighters conducted a full sweep of the roughly 300,000-square-foot facility. At the same time, state officials responded to Boston Logan Airport after receiving a similar threat.

Investigators were able to trace the threatening calls back to Bellingham. Following a joint investigation by Milford Police, Bellingham Police, and Massachusetts State Police, authorities identified John Lee as the suspect and took him into custody.

In addition to charges connected to Tuesday’s bomb threats, Milford Police say Lee had three active warrants at the time of his arrest. Police also confirmed that Lee had been charged in November in connection with previous bomb threats made to Encore Casino.

No explosives were found at either location, and officials say there is no ongoing threat. The case remains under investigation.
