MEDWAY – Medway High School’s Unified Basketball team has been recognized as one of the top programs in Massachusetts, earning the 2025 MIAA Unified Basketball Sportsmanship Award.
Unified Basketball brings together students with and without intellectual disabilities through the school’s Best Buddies Club, a program focused on fostering friendships, leadership development, and inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Medway’s team was selected for the honor from more than 150 Unified Basketball teams statewide, highlighting the program’s commitment to sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect both on and off the court.
The team is coached by Katy Golden, and school officials say the award reflects the positive culture built by the players and coaching staff throughout the season.
