HOLLISTON – Good news for downtown Holliston: the town has secured $1.092 million in federal funding to support its Downtown Revitalization Sewer Initiative, thanks to James McGovern.
The funding comes through Congressionally Directed Spending and builds on the $1.5 million state grant Holliston received in November 2025 from the Executive Office of Economic Development—bringing total funding for the project to more than $2.5 million.
“This funding creates real momentum for making downtown sewers a reality,” said John Cronin, Chair of the Holliston Sewer Commission, noting that the project will help open the door to new residential and economic development opportunities in the downtown area.
Town leaders also thanked Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey for their continued support, emphasizing the importance of strong partnerships at both the state and federal level.
More information on the downtown sewer project can be found on the Town of Holliston’s website, and residents are encouraged to stay involved as the project continues to move ahead.
