Blackstone-Millville’s boys used balanced scoring and late composure to top Oxford 71-64, extending the Chargers’ win streak to four games and improving their record to 9-6. Jackson Dunton led the charge with 26 points while Cody Fletcher supplied 20 in a complementary role; Karson Cournoyer added 11 off the bench.
Oxford made a run with a dominant 24-13 third quarter, but Blackstone-Millville steadied in the fourth, converting enough timely buckets and defensive stops to hang on. The result follows a narrow 60-58 loss to No. 12 Gardner two weeks ago and reflects how the Chargers have tightened late-game execution.
BMVT’s recent surge has come from improved shot selection and better distribution. The roster is getting production from multiple spots, which helps when opponents throw different defensive looks at them.
Blackstone-Millville will host Blackstone Valley Tech next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., a matchup that pits the Chargers’ momentum against a balanced BVT squad (7-5). If BMVT continues to get production from Dunton and Fletcher while limiting second-chance points, the Chargers should be able to extend their streak and climb the standings.
