NORFOLK – The Norfolk Registry of Deeds preaches community support and compassion through assisting individuals in need. As a result, the office hosts an ongoing food and toy drive, where locals can donate toys and non-perishable items to their Dedham offices from now until mid-December to help struggling families during the holiday season.

The Registry’s 18th Annual Toy Drive is going on now until Tuesday, December 9th at 10 AM. Most needed items include new, unwrapped toys for children ages 0 through 12 (no cash or gift cards). The drive goes to benefit and is in partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.

Additionally, the Registry is hosting their 22nd Annual Food Drive, going on now until December 18th. The office recommends donations such as canned goods, breakfast cereals, pasta, spaghetti sauce, toiletries, and paper products. Those unable to bring donations to the registry’s office can check their website for a pantry location near their community.

Bin locations to drop off non-perishable or toy donations are at the Main Lobby of the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds building, located at 649 High Street in Dedham. The building is open Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Register William P. O’Donnell stressed the importance of contributing to the registry’s holiday drives. According to a 2024 report from Project Bread, 37 percent of households from Massachusetts struggle from food insecurity, and has likely increased since then.

“Every donation makes a difference”, according to O’Donnell. “You may not think so, but it’s a simple act of kindness, and that act can go a long way”.
