Nipmuc Falls in Tight Sets to East Bridgewater After Strong Run

Nipmuc’s girls volleyball season ended in the Division 4 semifinals, a competitive 3-0 loss to No. 2 East Bridgewater that nevertheless capped a deep postseason run for the Warriors. Nipmuc finished the regular season 13-7 and earned the No. 3 seed before advancing with wins over Mashpee (3-1), Millbury (3-0), and Greater Lawrence Tech (3-1).

East Bridgewater came in as a 19-1 powerhouse riding a long win streak. The semifinal lived up to expectations: Nipmuc pushed the Vikings in every frame, trading heavy momentum swings in a 28-26 opening set before dropping the middle stanza and battling to a narrow 25-22 third set. Ultimately, the Warriors could not convert in the tight moments that decide championship-level matches, and East Bridgewater closed out the sweep.

Despite the defeat, Nipmuc’s season showed depth and resilience, a strong regular-year showing, and a multi-round playoff advance that bodes well for the program’s future. The Warriors matched up with a near-unstoppable opponent and pushed them to close scores; that experience should pay dividends as the roster builds toward next season. East Bridgewater will advance to face No. 1 Bourne in the final.
