BLACKSTONE – The Town of Blackstone has launched a community food drive to help residents who may lose food assistance due to the ongoing federal government shutdown.

The Blackstone Police Department and Town officials have partnered to set up food donation bins in the foyers of both the Blackstone Municipal Center and the Police Department. All donations will be distributed through the Blackstone-Millville Food Pantry.

According to state officials, approximately 1,000 Blackstone residents are at risk of losing SNAP benefits as soon as Saturday if the shutdown continues.
