Wayland Man Cited After Hitting Father and Child in Southborough Crosswalk

SOUTHBOROUGH – Police have cited an 85-year-old Wayland man after he allegedly struck a man and his 2-year-old child in a crosswalk Saturday morning.

The incident happened on Main Street, where police say a family of four was crossing when an SUV hit the father and his young son.

The 2-year-old was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are described as non-life-threatening. The father was not injured.

Police say the driver remained at the scene and has been cited for Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Authorities have also requested that the state suspend his driver’s license.
