Hopkinton’s girls soccer squad has compiled a strong 12-2-2 record and sits as the No. 11 seed in D1 soccer, but the Hillers suffered a tough 3-0 defeat to the Wellesley Raiders in their latest matchup. Wellesley, a formidable opponent this season, improved to 10-2-4 and carries the No. 3 seed in D1 after Alexa Hoff scored to help the Raiders control the pace and earn the win.

The Raiders have not lost in six straight and present one of the stiffer tests in the state. Hopkinton will look to regroup quickly as it hosts the struggling Norwood tonight; the Mustangs enter at 1-14 and have dropped four straight in D2 play. The Hillers will be heavy favorites, but they know they must rely on their key playmakers to respond.

Hopkinton also faces Brookline on Thursday at 5:30 PM, where a win or two to close the regular season could help the Hillers climb into the top 10 seeds. If results break their way, Hopkinton could realistically move as high as the No. 8 seed, making the final stretch critical for securing favorable playoff positioning.
