The Blackstone-Millville Chargers girls’ soccer team closed its regular season on a high note, finishing with an impressive 12-5-1 record. The Chargers went 8-2 over their last 10 games and capped the year with a dominating 4-0 victory over the Burncoat Patriots in the regular-season finale.

Seniors Ella McCourt and Julia Korenscik scored in their final regular-season match, while Maci Rodenhiser and Grace Ahearn also found the net. Keeper Kaylee Burke recorded another shutout in a statement performance that helped the Chargers finish the year on a confident note.

Heading into the postseason, Blackstone-Millville hovered near the playoff cut, listed as the No. 32 seed in the last D4 power rankings. Since that roundup, the Chargers went 1-1, a loss to Whitinsville-Christian and the win over Burncoat, leaving their postseason seeding potentially precarious. The victory over Burncoat, however, strengthens their case to secure a spot when the brackets are finalized.

Regardless of where the chips fall, the Chargers can take pride in an excellent season and the way seniors closed their careers with a commanding finish.
