MILFORD – Milford High School has received a $3,500 grant from the Whole Foods Foundation to support its vocational student garden.
Instructor Dr. Lexi Forgit and her students were awarded the Whole Kids Garden Grant, which will help maintain and enhance the garden the students have nurtured for several years. Some of the vegetables and herbs grown there are used in the school cafeteria.
Part of the funding will go toward repairing and replacing several raised garden beds, a project that will be completed by students in Milford High’s building trades program.
