The Hopkinton Hillers field hockey squad delivered a statement victory against the Ashland Clockers Tuesday night, bouncing back from a 3-1 loss at Westwood last Friday. Hopkinton exploded for a 7-1 triumph behind an exceptional performance from Abby Burke, who netted four goals.

Burke’s scoring outburst was complemented by Taylor Interrante, who contributed two assists, and Ella Fowler, who added a goal of her own. The balanced attack and decisive finishing helped Hopkinton reset after the earlier loss and reassert itself in the standings.

The win improved the Hillers’ record to 7-5-4 on the season and should bolster their position as they head toward the playoffs. Hopkinton currently holds the No. 8 seed in D1 field hockey and will aim to climb from there with a string of strong results down the stretch.

Hopkinton had a quick turnaround and faced Norwood the following night in a competitive matchup that ended in a 1-1 tie making them 7-5-5. The Norwood Mustangs entered the game as a playoff-bound D2 team with the No. 14 seed, coming off two straight losses prior to that meeting. The Hillers will look to get back in the win column at Oliver Ames tomorrow at 5:15 on the road as they continue to position themselves for postseason success.
