FRANKLIN – A Franklin man has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a fatal crash last spring that killed a woman and her young daughter.

James Blanchard appeared in court Friday, where he was arraigned on two counts of manslaughter while operating under the influence and additional charges related to the May crash on Grove Street that claimed the lives of Minaben Patel and her 5-year-old daughter, Krisha.

After entering his not-guilty plea, a judge ordered that Blanchard’s bail remain set at $250,000. He is due back in court in December for a pretrial conference.
