The Northbridge Rams girls’ soccer team continued its outstanding season with a record of 11-0-2 after a hard-fought 1-1 tie with Auburn last Thursday. Auburn, a top-25 D3 program, came away with a 1-1 result that saw Kate Leonard score for the Rams while Alyssa Gervasi answered for the Rockets. Before the tie, Northbridge had built momentum with wins over Whitinsville and Uxbridge, and the Rams remain firmly near the top of D4 rankings.
Northbridge’s success stems from a balanced attack and reliable defensive structure. With contributors across the lineup, the Rams have leaned on both finishing and transitional speed to create consistent scoring chances. Elory Manning and Kate Leonard have been key offensive catalysts, giving Northbridge the ability to change tempo midgame and exploit opponent lapses. The Rams’ undefeated record is the product of sustained execution across the full 90 minutes.
This afternoon’s matchup versus Hopedale at 5:45 p.m. will be a heavyweight test. Hopedale enters on a four-game winning streak and is listed as the No. 2 seed in D5 power rankings. Northbridge will need its stars to step up and will rely on smart defending and clinical finishing to get back into the win column. Expect a competitive, tightly contested game as both teams look to assert themselves.
