After opening the season 3-0, Milford’s Scarlet-Hawks have stumbled in back-to-back matchups, getting held to just six points in each of their last two games. The latest setback came in a 35-6 loss to Barnstable, a game that began tightly but slipped away in the second half.
Milford showed life early. Quarterback Vincent Loscerbo connected on a 28-yard scoring pass late in the first half that trimmed the deficit to 7-6, but Barnstable’s late first-half score and sustained second-half success flipped the momentum. Despite the loss, there were positive individual plays; Milford continues to possess weapons and playmakers that can flip a game if the offense finds rhythm and the defense regains early-season form.
The Scarlet-Hawks now have a timely chance to recalibrate when they host Attleboro on Friday. Attleboro sits at 1-3, offering Milford an opportunity to correct course and restore confidence. The coaching staff will emphasize fundamentals and situational execution this week. If Milford can clean up turnovers, rediscover its early-season scoring balance, and shore up defensive assignments, the Scarlet-Hawks should be poised to rebound and restart their push for a strong divisional finish.
