Nipmuc Rolling: Warriors Stay Unbeaten Through Balanced Defense and Firepower

The Nipmuc girls’ soccer team has been on an outstanding run early in the season after their win over Sutton Monday night. The Warriors sit at a 6-0-1 record overall, with their tie against Weston proving to be the team’s stiffest challenge to date. That result was expected. Weston was a dominant team last season, yet Nipmuc bounced back quickly and has since put together a three-game winning streak over Tantasqua, Auburn, and Sutton.

In Monday’s matchup against the Suzies, Nipmuc delivered a strong and balanced performance. Sutton was unable to find traction, as the Warriors controlled the flow of play and turned chances into goals. Abby Mullins stood out by scoring twice while Caylee Smith earned another shutout, continuing the defense’s excellent work. Through seven matches, Nipmuc has recorded six shutouts, a testament to the cohesion of its back line and goalkeeping.

Offensively, the Warriors have been efficient in the moments that matter, converting opportunities without relying on volume shots. The combination of stingy defense and timely scoring makes Nipmuc dangerous. Next up is a road test at Douglas tomorrow afternoon; Douglas brings a respectable 5-2-1 record and will present a meaningful measurement of how complete Nipmuc is as the season progresses.
