Hillers’ Winning Run Ends in Tight Loss to Bellingham

The Hopkinton Hillers girls’ volleyball squad has had a stellar start to its fall campaign, starting off the year 6-1. The girls started with six straight victories, all of which were either 3-0 or 3-1 victories, highlighting how these matches were in their control. This streak came to an end against a very strong Bellingham Blackhawk team in a 1-3 loss. The Blackhawks also stand at 6-1 and are the only team this season to take down the Hillers.

Hopkinton will look to rely on its fundamentally sound rotations and personnel in its next matchup against Norton High this afternoon at home. Norton has struggled this season thus far, currently sitting at 2-5, and offers Hopkinton an opportunity to get back on track on their home court. Expect Hopkinton to deliver a statement performance after a disappointing loss to Bellingham, and expect star players like senior setter Gabbie Pattie to perform and galvanize the girls toward a stronger showing. The Hillers have something to prove against the Lancers today, and expect them to deliver.
