The Uxbridge Spartans continued their dominant postseason run with a 12–1 victory over West Bridgewater in the Division 5 first round. Entering as the No. 2 seed after a near-perfect regular season, Uxbridge carried a two-game win streak into this matchup. West Bridgewater managed a single run in the third inning but was otherwise unable to match the Spartans’ balanced attack. On the mound, Erin O’Day was electric, recording 16 strikeouts while also contributing five runs scored on offense. Junior Lola Grube crushed a home run and finished with seven RBIs, sparking a dynamic offensive performance for the Spartans. Uxbridge collected hits from multiple players, executed perfect pitching, and used aggressive baserunning to keep constant pressure on West Bridgewater’s defense. Defensively, the Spartans held West Bridgewater to that lone run before recording routine outs to close out the contest. Uxbridge now turns its attention to Pittsfield in the round of 16 at home. While the exact date and time are pending, the Spartans will be heavy favorites and are expected to deliver another high-scoring effort and dominant pitching performance against Pittsfield.
