Hundreds have protested in front of Milford Town Hall following the federal immigration detainment of a Milford High School student while he was headed to a volleyball practice on Saturday. Schools Superintendent Kevin McIntyre has confirmed to multiple media outlets that the 18-year-old was stopped in a car and detained by ICE agents but that the school district was not involved. Milford Police have reportedly said they were also not aware. Friends of the teen say four of them were headed to practice when agents surrounded their car, asked all four of them for documentation and detained the 18-year-old. Sunday’s protest included many students still in caps and gowns from Milford High School Graduation.
