After navigating a challenging regular-season schedule, Blackstone-Millville girls’ tennis finished 6-9 and earned the No. 31 seed out of 33 in the Division 4 playoffs. In the first round, the Chargers faced Bromfield and, despite a spirited effort, fell 3-0 in straight sets. Although the postseason stay was brief, simply qualifying marks meaningful progress. The Chargers missed the playoffs in each of the previous two years despite similar overall records, underscoring how competitive their bracket was this spring. MIAA’s seeding system accounts for opponent strength and match quality, highlighting the challenges Blackstone-Millville overcame just to qualify. With valuable experience against top-tier programs and a roster that blends seasoned players with emerging talent, the Chargers have momentum on their side. A realistic goal for next year is securing that elusive first playoff win with this foundation. Given their steady improvement and growing confidence, it wouldn’t be surprising to see this program back in postseason action and ready to advance deeper into May. And for any outgoing seniors, they should be proud of making it to the playoffs for the first time in a few seasons.
