The Medway boys tennis team is surging at just the right time, heading into the Division 3 state tournament with an 11-5 record and five straight wins to end the regular season. That late-season push earned the Mustangs the No. 10 seed in the bracket, setting up a first-round home match against No. 23 Swampscott (8-8) tomorrow at 4 PM at home. Medway’s recent run has included tight victories over quality opponents, including 3-2 thrillers against Dover-Sherborn and Milford. The Mustangs have shown the ability to grind out matches, with clutch performances across the lineup. Their singles players have been steady, while the doubles teams have developed strong chemistry during the win streak. Last spring, Medway reached the quarterfinals before falling to the eventual champions in Weston, and the returning players are hungry to take another step forward. With a blend of experience and momentum, the Mustangs have the tools to make noise in the bracket. They’ll look to start strong against Swampscott and build toward a deeper postseason run this time around.
