The Whitinsville Christian softball team wrapped up their season under unusual circumstances Friday afternoon when Southbridge was forced to forfeit due to scheduling issues. While the Crusaders would have preferred to win on the field, the result counts all the same, lifting their final record to 5–9. It was an up-and-down year for the team, marked by a few bright spots and several near-misses. One of the season’s biggest highlights came just days earlier in a dominant 21–11 win over Blackstone-Millville, Whitinsville’s highest-scoring game of the season. That offensive explosion offered a glimpse of the team’s potential when everything clicked. Though the forfeit win lacked the celebratory energy of an on-field triumph, it gave the Crusaders two wins in their final three games and some positive momentum to close out the spring. Looking ahead, the team will look to build off their flashes of success and bring a more consistent product to the diamond in 2026, where they hope to return to playoff contention. The Crusaders will need to focus on fundamentals and consistency to make meaningful progress next season and beyond.
