The Milford Scarlet-Hawks boys’ lacrosse team has surged into playoff contention, improving to 12–6 on the season with an 11–9 victory over the Medway Mustangs on Tuesday afternoon. After falling 12–7 to North Attleboro the previous day, Milford responded with balanced play across attack, faceoffs, and defense to edge a solid Medway squad. Milford’s season began unevenly at 2–4, but the Scarlet-Hawks have since ridden a 10–2 tear over their next twelve games. In the Medway matchup, they capitalized on key faceoff wins to fuel their offense, while their defensive unit limited Medway’s transition chances and ground-ball opportunities. Goalie stops in the fourth quarter preserved a narrow lead as the Scarlet-Hawks held on for the win. Heading into the postseason as the No. 29 seed, Milford will close out its regular season against Bishop Stang High School. The Spartans, currently 9–7, present a worthy challenge, though Sunday’s matchup has been postponed due to weather. Regardless of when it’s played, a win would cement Milford’s strong finish to the regular season and build confidence for the tournament. With momentum firmly on their side, the Scarlet-Hawks look ready to make noise in the playoffs.
