There’s a long-term bridge closure coming in Sutton that could affect residents in Grafton and Northbridge. The Depot Street Bridge over the Blackstone River in the Wilkinsonville area is over 60 years old and is rated in poor condition. Not only does it carry traffic but it also carries all water, sewer, and gas utilities serving area residents and businesses. The State has agreed to fund the $8 million replacement of the Town-owned bridge. The bridge will be fully closed to through traffic as soon as April 28 and the closure will likely last until late Fall 2026. Local traffic, including trucks, will need to use Blackstone Street to Providence Road, although non-truck traffic can use Follette to Fitzpatrick to Pleasant.
