By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Milford Fire Department says due to drought conditions and high risk for rapidly spreading fires, all open burning, recreational fires, cooking fires, and sources of ignition are prohibited. The Fire Chief says Massachusetts has experienced numerous fires that have burned over 480 acres. He says this order will remain in effect until rainfall reduces the risk of rapid fire growth. If you have any questions, contact the Milford Fire Department. Several other towns have enacted similar bans amid the dry weather.
