By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Today is Franklin’s special election on a potential $6.8 million tax override for next year. In person voting goes until 8pm Franklin High and all mail in ballots must be received in the Town Clerk’s Office by 8pm. If it passes, $6.3 million would go to Franklin Public Schools and $500,000 to the town’s Facilities Department, both of which officials say have been hit by inflation and other external factors. They say the average tax for a single-family home of $650,000 would go up about $550 during the term of the override.
