Eversource Plans Underground Cabling in Hopkinton and Milford to Meet Power Needs

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Eversource reportedly wants to underground some new cables in Hopkinton and Milford. At a public open house meeting this week, officials presented the idea to upgrade the existing line along 1.3 miles between South Street in Hopkinton and Purchase Street in Milford between the two substations. The Hopkinton Independent reports the new lines would reduce carbon emissions and help meet demands for more power. If approved by local and state officials, the work would start in late 2025 and take about two years.
